What's been happening.

So, what have we been doing lately?

Well, we are busy chasing up finance for the car.

We applied through the finance company that is affiliated with the car yard, but I get the impression that a/ the girlie they have doing the applications at the yard is very new to her job, and b/ there was a lot of relevent information that just did not make it into the application when it was sent.

So... it was refused... based on tygrr's 'erratic work history'.

Sheesh.

Did they know she was migrant? ... no

Did they know the whole factory was laid off last time she was stood down, so it was not her fault? ... no

Did they ask about our expenses ....no

Did they know much about us other than the stark black and white figures that may or may not have been in order, depending on just how much of her job that girl understands?.... no

So, the next step was to apply to our own bank.

Our bank lets a subsidiary company, Esanda, finance their car loans. You can even do it online, via the email or fax.

So much for getting the personal treatment at our local bank.

Still, but doing it online it gave ME the chance to organise it.

I also had to do a crash course in how to operate the scanner part of my printer and also how to create pdfs! I did ok, although I cannot for the life of me figure out how to ensure multiple page pdfs have their pages in a set order, or how to change that order if it's wrong.

Nonetheless, I collated all the information, did the necessary maths, filled out all the forms and attached all the relevent supporting documents to the application email, INCLUDING a letter explaining about tygrr's immigration and work history, which included her work history of six years as an EMT before coming to australia.

I finally got it all sorted and ready and submitted it at 1pm this afternoon. Heck, I managed to convince our government to keep her in the country, so here's hoping I can convince the finance company to give her money!

There are two or three other options we are able to try yet if we have to, to buy the car, so there's no pressure really. We'd just like it all sorted asap so we can get on with other things in our life.

However, it WAS nice to be able to relax this afternoon, after it was submitted. It's the first afternoon I've really been able to take it easy for a couple of weeks it seems.

In other news, Masked Lady has recovered enough from her cat flu to be discharged from isolation and is back in the main house again. The first night out she managed to crawl under my covers and snuggle up next to me, purring her little head off. Today she's discovered my desk and that she can get up on it by herself, so now she comes and visits me whenever she wants luuuuurrve and trust me, she wants it often! She's turning into the biggest sook and has come ahead in leaps and bounds even while she was sick and tygrr had to shove medicine down her throat.

I was in visiting our other patient, Jasmine, tonight and she too is growing into such a big sook and is getting better nicely. Her eyes are still inflamed though, so she will stay in the bathroom for a while yet as she still needs to take regular anti-inflammatories.

You know, one day I am going to do serious injury to my troll. She just asked me, at 12.43 AM to print out some homework she has been working on. Yeah, she used the excuse of, 'I'm doing homework' for staying up late. However she was having trouble getting her stuff into the 'shared docs' of my pc to be printed. When I checked, her network doesn't seem to be set up with the rest and you know, I am not going to f**k around with that at this time of the morning - ESPECIALLY when she has had a WEEK to get this done and only began working on it tonight! She just got told that in future she goes to bed at 10.30pm whether her homework is done or not and it's up to her to sort out her time or explain things to her teacher if it's not done.

I mean, just when I am winding down she dumps this on me when I SHOULD be thinking about bed! She's not going to know what's hit her when she starts high school methinks!

Actually, I think she's been in a bit of a funk because her brother is here. I think it's habit more than anything, or feeling a little 'not the centre of attention' any more. It's certainly not because of how he's behaving, as he's been behaving really well.

However, we DO have to be up early tomorrow as she has school crossing duty (oh joy, can you imagine what mood a sleep deprived troll will be in?), so I best drag my tired old bones to bed too!

Keep fingers crossed for us!
