Ok, we have had news at last.
The finance has finally been approved for the car!
It only took the promise of our firstborn and their firstborn to get it - sorry grubblet, but you and J are now under contract! ...lol
Seriously though, when you are not a local and they have to track all the way to USA for your credit history, it's a damn pain.
But, it's done. We get to go sort out the paperwork tomorrow morning and hopefully pick up the car either thursday or friday. It's a relief to have that settled at last. I know I am getting damn sick of proving to folks we are good enough - first the government, to let her into the country, and then this mob to prove she's good enough to lend money to... sheesh!
Mind you, that's if she lives long enough to drive it - she's got the dreaded lurgy that half the state is down with and is a sick little tygrr. She was up this afternoon for a while and was running a temp of 38.9 (over 102F) so I dosed her up on paracetamol and when it still wouldn't come down below 38 (100f) I ditched her into a tepid bath - much to her disgust!
But it did the trick and her temp came down to normal again, so now she's in bed sleeping. She's supposed to be working tonight but I have told her she's not going if her temp goes up again. So I wake her at 9pm and we shall see what's happening then.
Mind you, they do say the worst patients are doctors and nurses and you know, you can add ambos (EMTs) to that too. You'd think she would know better, but when I went in to tell her about the car this afternoon, here she was rugged up in bed with the electric blanket on and her skin hot enough to fry eggs! No wonder her temp was as high as it was!
So Nurse Dragon has taken over and she's under Nurse's orders for now. She's not supposed to be working tomorrow night, so perhaps a couple of days rest might help her get over the worst of it before she gets into 'soldier on' mode. I know I will certianly be visiting the chemist tomorrow looking for cold and flu remedies to help her get over it as fast as possible. I know my tygrr - she's far too focused on supporting her family to pay attention to looking after herself, so I shall just have to do it for her. If she's so damn determined not to lose wages because she's sick then I best make sure she isn't sick!
So, it's a quiet house tonight, despite the good news, but I expect the next day or so it should brighten a tad.
Mind you, I'm not complaining about the peace at all.. uh uh.
