Remember this grubby and neglected little car?
Well, baby, look at her now!
What a difference!
She's been washed, vacuumed, given new wheel trims, had the tyres cleaned and blacked, the windows washed and shone, the bumpers have been armouralled, new shockies and polished to an inch of her life! A friend of ours came up the other day with an electric polisher and used the cut and polish compound I had bought to wonderful effect! It certainly saved me a lot of elbow grease!
He was working on the car at one point and we heard him burst into giggles, so we ran out to see what he found so amusing while polishing a car, and apparantly one of our cats had jumped up on the bonnet (as is their habit) .. and slid straight back off! It is THAT highly polished. And it is. I got back from collecting it this morning from having the new shockies put on, and clyde tried to jump up like he usually does, and yup, slid straight back off! No traction on Lola any more. Now the kittens will just have to walk all over tygrr's car instead.. *evil grin*
Just goes to show even something pretty old and haggard can come up good with a bit of effort - maybe there's hope for an old dragon yet!
In other news I was going to go see a friend today, but troll is home from school sick, so no socialising for me. I shall take advantage of the time home and colour my hair perhaps. Tonight I am going out to a special preview of the movie 'No Reservations' with a girlfriend who won a free pass for two.
Tomorrow the Elantra goes in for its first service in preparation for going away this weekend, and I should think about packing. I know I'm already charging up the batteries as we will need a few...... for the CAMERA!!.. what WERE you thinking???
Oh, and just in case I have not mentioned it, I have hurt my back, down low in the lumbar area similar to what I did to it last year, but not as bad. That's why our friend came up and polished the car for me. I thought I would mention the back NOW though, so if I write about it after this weekend you will all know it's an innocent injury and NOT from anything we do this weekend.... well, not THIS injury anyway. Not that one can really injure oneself taking photos, as that is what we'll be doing... *nods nods nods*....and no, not THOSE sorts of photos either! I really don't know where you've got your mind!
Now though, lunch is done and there is a whole afternoon to fill - what shall I do? Good lord, perhaps I'll actually get the laptop out and WRITE!
Or maybe I should go pimping around in my swank little car.. *grins*
