Well, the good news is,
after finally getting some research and planning done on my Nano book last night I seemed to have satisfied my muse and actually managed seven hours uninterrupted sleep last night!!
Can we say bliss?
However, as it is now after 3.00am here tonight and I am still awake, I would say that bliss is not going to be repeated tonight..:(
I have done a ton of work on the planning and preparation for Nano. I have over 3000 words in the story outline alone! I have a little more research to read on the social conditions at the time of the War of the Roses in Britain, and at the time of Transportation of Convicts to the colonies era and I am done!
However tonight I think I have gotten so involved in it that my muse won't settle until it is finally done. I think this is partly because it knows I will get bugger all time tomorrow to work on it because of necessary errands that must be run. And yes, they ARE necessary. One is a trip out to Tailem Bend to pick up the money for Troll's new school uniforms for next year. The day after tomorrow is her first introductory day at the new High School and the Uniform shop shall be open, hence the need to collect the money for her uniforms tomorrow. After that I need to go grocery shopping and yes, it is a need. I put it off last week again and again, picking up one or two items we needed over the weekend, so now the cupboard is really bare and so I MUST shop tomorrow after school.
That leaves tomorrow night to do anything and I just don't want to leave it all til then.
Of course, as luck has it, Nanowrimo begins on thursday and thursday is the day I have to take troll down to her new highschool. C'est la vie. I am confidant enough in my pleasure in my story that I believe I shall more than make the wordcount for Nano this year.
In other news, Jasmine decided to go into labour today. Unfortunately her first kitten was stillborn. The second one, born several hours later was alive and squeaking and as cute as a button. Sadly a couple of hours later when checking on her, I discovered her lying on it. Of course, it was smothered and quite dead. So today has been quite the roller coaster of emotions, what with the excitment of kittens on the way, then the still birth, the the joy of a live birth and again the loss. There has been no more arrivals since, and I doubt there will be as she was quite small before she began her labour. As it was her first litter it seems likely that there were only the two.
Tonight poor Jasmine came up on the bed with me and snuggled, which is not like her. It seems she is feeling a little sad and forlorn too, knowing something is wrong but not quite what. Later she hopped back down into the birthing box I had set up for her and went to sleep alone. She looked quite tragic. So, no kittens to climb the christmas tree this year....:(
One day I might learn how not to be quite such a softy, but not just yet.
