Got up xtra early for work, expecting a bit of a wrestle with the tubes this morning. Was actually totally smooth journey. Victoria line was fine. Pretty empty but I expect a lot of people just decided to make a long weekend of it and Monday will be elbows-in-ribs-briefcase-in-shins business as usual ( Read more... )

Am intending to be so. How you getting to hitchin? train or car? (there should be parking at Maz's place and I can't see us getting to the festival before early afternoon)

dunno. drivivng would be the obvious one, but wanna drink, so will look into pt. Assume driving for now until i find alternative.

having researched this myself, only one can think of is to go into london and back out again via finsbury park. trains go quite late at night (have vague vodka-soaked memories of me and howard catching a late train...) so you can enjoy the day.

aha, here's where working in stevenage comes in handy.....
724 to hertford north, train to stevenage/hitchin or change at stevenage (easy, same direction on two platforms)
just need to see if buses (one an hour) and trains (unreliable) match up....
