...is that I have started listening to Nickel Creek again? I had been so out of touch with the music scene that I didn't realize that they had gotten back together as a group! :-O MOAR ALBUMS I HAVEN'T HEARD? Exciting

It really is a freaking fantastic song, that's for sure! And I'm not massively into country, myself, but I am band geek, of course, and anything that makes my ears happy makes me happy, I guess. (I really hadn't been listening to much music the last few years, which clearly has been a very big mistake.)
It's been a *very* long time, but I remember Nickel Creek talking about their influences, and I think one of them was the Beatles. So, a bit different than the usual, I guess. They do have more traditional-style songs, of course.
But you played tuba, right? You might be interested in this, as well. I am also coping with MALAGUENA, haha. I can't remember if we played it in high school (I think we might've?), but of course it wasn't a fraction as awesome as this version. Man, DCI. (I am now imagining you with one of those tubas! :-D)
Yeah, I figured that you didn't use the ones in the video. That would be an *absolute* pain to march with. I guess technically those are concert tubas that would be normally pointing up? DCI is HARDCORE. MAXIMUM BLARE.
I had to sit in front of trumpets all of the time, so sadly I know this. Actually, where we had our tubas sit would've been pretty sweet since they hung out with the percussion (ours were absolute characters, of course). I SHOULD'VE PLAYED THE TUBA!

And I did play tuba, but mine was a sousaphone (for marching, at least). Those in the video are freaking monsters!
