Hoo, I didn't realize Philosopher's Flight ranked so high up with you :) Now even more curious to see how it will work out for me, eventually.

(And pfft at several acclaimed titled making it to your shitlist :DD You go girl XD)

Both Anna and I really liked it so that means that it's good! XD We'll see if I'm as lucky reccing books for you. It took me several tries to find one Anna read and liked.

If you hate it, it's ok. Won't hurt my feelings. But you might like the second book more since that will be in the thick of battle.

As far as those acclaimed books go, they weren't terrible, but they weren't great, either. I liked the movie for Never Let Me Go better than the book. Both it and the Lovely Bones spoiled some key plot points early on.

I didn't enjoy the Practical Magic book, but the movie is my favourite.
The Rules of Magic, the prequel to the book that came out last year was really good IMO :)

I've been wanting to read the prequel so glad to hear that it was good. I kept comparing the book to the movie - I did like that it fleshed out some of the storylines.
