This showed up on my feed this morning:
On the news last night it was reported that a man attacked another man with hot cooking oil. We need to look at banning hot cooking oil now? It's been weeks since I've seen anything like that. I removed all the worst offenders and the conservatives left aren't usually offensive. Or stupid.

I'm always surprised now when someone says something stupid or offensive now (that isn't my parents) on FB because mine is culled down to mostly people from live journal and my art sites.

Ugh. People are just... It's especially ridiculous since it's not like anyone in upper-level government has been talking about banning hunting rifles or handguns. Oh they like to play with assault weapons because it's 'fun,' well, people like drugs because they're fun, but those are legislated against.

I would show them this graph on the average numbers killed in mass shootings before, during, and after the assault weapons ban:

My obnoxious pretend-Democrat senator has actually been doing/saying sensible things for once, on the topic of gun control, but I think it's too early to hope he'll permanently leave the NRA's pocket any time soon.
