Health Insurance - Medicare has managed to get itself into a confusing convoluted mess with its Medigap and Advantage options. I signed up for a Regence Medigap plan since I don't take prescription drugs, don't see a doctor till something breaks, leaks, squeaks, or can't be fixed with Advil. I took it specifically because of its vision and dental

My dad keeps saying he is glad he is the age he is, because he doesn't want to see what's coming.

I'm there too. I took out a subscription to our local newspaper, online, and after a year of having plenty to say I find I'm done. One can present facts with links and quotes and offer passive encouragement but at some point one has to realize they live in an area rural enough where white folk established themselves 150 years ago and only managed to remain dim bulbs generation after generation. In hindsight I realize I was much happier not living in the county where I was born and raised.

Because I live here now, I know that our democracy is having devastating growing pains mostly against tyranny and subjugation. All there is to do now is take a deep breath and accept that the world is changing, step back from the non-stop media and be content with doing retirement hobbies. Whatever catastrophic event comes, I too hope that I won't live long enough to witness it.
