Hypothetically speaking, if say Lincraft (http://www.lincraft.com.au/) was having a 50% off fabrics sale, and you saw some lovely fabric that might make a nice skirt/jacket/pair of trousers, but you didn’t have a specific project in mindPoll I would buy

I was the 2m vote but that was an assumption that you meant skirt, trousers or jacket for street wear. I have lots of those lengths. Actually if I really just want skirt or trousers, 1-1.5m will do depending on the style garment and width of cloth. Also how plain the cloth is. If it has a stunning pattern, how many garments could you bear in it? One is usually the answer. For an SCA gown- 5m is more than enough. really only need 4 for the styles I do but the extra meter gives some play room.

Right now I am only buying REALLY nice fabric that happens to be REALLY cheap, yeh I have stash and must make some inroads into it.

And then... after all that... I had a mofo of a day, and fell into lincraft on the way home.

And bought 9m (the bolt) of 280m wide green woven diamond pattern fabric.

I shall blog about it over the weekend. It's LOVELY.

I didn't buy any silk though - see - I was restrained!!
