This is amazingly, unbelievably, incredibly beautiful, I can't even begin - oh my god, just, Molly, everyone's wings (Mycroft's are snazzy and John's are whitewhitewhite and Sally's are green and asdfasdfadsfas ASDFASFASDFASDA) and John cares so much and John infects Sherlock with caring and John looking after the homeless and EVERYTHING, EVERYTHING IS BEAUTIFUL AND NOTHING HURTS AND OH MY GOD I AM DYING OF GLORIOSITY.
You are wonderful, and an amazing writer. Thank you so, so, so much, I don't deserve this <3, I am in love. *HUGS*

Everything just wrote itself. My muse took over as soon as you posted "Xenophila - e.g. wings." Thank YOU for the Charles/Erik - seeing the dead trope. I adore it. You are an equally amazing writer yourself :)

i hope they both had share a kiss when they both had wings. This is really awesome!
but i feel bad for the poor people who has no wings and are mistreated by society.

We can imagine that they shared a kiss when they were both winged. It makes for a gorgeous image.
I like to think that after the surgery, Mycroft manipulated the British government into creating laws that put the wingless on more equal standing with the winged. And that he set up programs to help those that are wingless get back on their feet, slowly heal from depression and/or whatever problems they have in life.
Thanks again for your thoughts!

I love the wings theme and youve done it maginificently, you really did. The atmosphere, the love, the trust that builded and once there couldn't be broken, Sherlock's deperate wish to know John safe and John's unconditional sacrifice - all that was heart-wrenchingly beautiful.
My favourite wing story ever I dare to say. I could see both their wings in my mind and the picture of Sherlock spreading his to protect John brought tears into my eyes (am emotional like this...).
And those wonderful wings! Sherlock all in white now, taking forever care of his/John's scars on John's back.
And I loved the over all message and I can't believe there're so few comments and and and.
So, you see, I really really loved that story. Thank you so much. So, so much.

I really love wing!fic. I've read as many Sherlock/John ones that I can find on AO3 and lj. They're all so very well-written and I thought I'd add to the sub-genre.
The image of Sherlock using his wings to protect John is one of the images that inspired the whole oneshot (besides John giving up his wings for Sherlock and Sherlock taking care of his/John's scars.)
Thank YOU for the brilliant comment, your insightful thoughts. I hope that the future Sherlock/John oneshots I write can have the same quality of writing :)

You added something superb with this fic to the genre and I'm happy you did so.
If it's not too bold to ask - would you maybe tell me your favourite wing!Serlock story? Haven't been into fandom for that long yet and there's SO MUCH to catch up with. But just if it's no bother, and just if there is the one or other title jumping into your head. (And I'd be already very happy with the titles, I will find them without links just fine).
I love Johnlock though.

And I understand why! Such a strong, such a moving picture it is.
I also just read Devotion and I loved it too! Possessivness comes right after Protectivness :)
