Counselling and sleep

Slept for eleven hours and now feel a lot better. Started counselling again yesterday and counsellor was asking me about my sleep patterns and saying I should have a look at the Uni help stuff about sleep. I have a feeling some of it won't work for me, like staying up all day if you have a bad nights sleep. If I get less than 7 hours if I don't ( Read more... )

Yep.
My sleep patterns are all over the place and like you I can't go without a nap if I haven't slept the night before.
I can't see straight, eat straight or think straight and therefore end up unable to do anything.
Better to have a nap so that you can at least think clearly enough to get on with the rest of the day.

I tend to either need lots of sleep or just a few hours. Anything in between tends to make me more tired.

As long as I'm not down with anything, I can sometimes have just four hours sleep and then be alert and awake all day and into the next night, but if I do need "recovery" then I'll tend to sleep for ten hours or more.

I can sometimes function with 6 hours. But I need a really good reason and a lot of coffee and I don't do anything very well.
