Thank you! I'm hoping he'll go to Wizard World Chicago and not back out...but I won't hold my breath.

You would think that he could... not do that. Confirm and then cancel two days later? Just don't say you're going, David!

On the on hand, it's terribly disappointing. I was literally squeeing at the news. On the other hand, I would have been uber pissed if I'd bought plane tickets and learned the news. But yeah, he shouldn't tease people. That, or they confirmed it before he actually signed anything.

Well, he's canceled at San Diego Comic-Con twice in the past. Both at the last minute. Yeah, he one of those. You never know if he'll show. So in a way it's better that he canceled this con so soon.

SDCC? That's a big con to be canceling from...hmm...Aren't they contractually obligated for stuff like that?

In the case of SDCC, the studios send their stars there, and yes said stars are expected to show, perhaps contractually. But what are the studios going to do if their star takes a pass? Give them the hairy eyeball and not much more.

The other cons are different because it's David's management that handles it, not the studio. But David is notorious for not liking cons. So I'm surprised Wizard World ever got a "maybe" from him. Besides, he's in a hit show and doesn't like talking about Buffy or Angel all that much. Something's fishy about this whole thing.

Hey, are you going to SDCC this year? If so maybe I'll see you there. I've got my tickets and am all set.

Well, one of the WiWo peeps said they're trying to negotiate a different con for David so...we'll see. I can't invest in anything though unless I'm already going to be there at this point. I can't afford an additional con, but was willing to be [more] irresponsible for David :p Here's hoping if he does show up somewhere, it's the one in Chicago.

And yes! Got my badge, and will hopefully get an official con hotel. I spoke to a reservation rep on the phone and was her first caller :D Where are you staying?
