I like how this fic goes full circle - from the quite upbeat beginning, through the grief, to the hopeful end.

It's so sad, but end is surprisingly comforting.

"If it was down to me, I'd never leave...but it's not down to me."

Love that line, and also "pausing to whisper a sorrowful goodbye to the recorded memory" is beutiful

this is an excellent story. :) it really portrays the emotions it's supposed to portray, which is something not all writers can achieve. it's super sad :(
