Can't remember where I first read this. steer March 14 2008, 16:17:54 UTC
Harryhausen -- verb, to move in a jerky and unconvincing manner.

"I Harryhausened into the living room and scared the cat."

Oh I wish we could order "Sons of the Hydra's Teeth" from our stationery catalogue at work - sure would take the burden off when we get those busy days. They'd be rubbish at answering the phone though.

Sorry I missed out quite essential words in that reply - it doesn't make any sense as it is.

What I meant was - I bet you wouldn't get mithered again!!

Just blame it on being Friday.

Did you get to the Harryhausen exhibition at the NMM last year (or was it the year before?) - loads of his drawings and models there, plus some stuff by artists who influenced him - there was a massive Gustave Doré influence going on in his drawings.

I bought his autobiography which is fascinating - the films he didn't make are almost as interesting as the ones he did - and it's full of stills and art too. Very highly recommended, the guy is a bit of a hero.

On a lesser scale, Oliver Postgate's autobiography was...interesting.

I quite enjoyed that - I found his experiences as a conscientious objector quite moving.
I absolutely love his voice though, I find it instantly soothing and calming and 'aaah relax' as it takes me back to a time when I was little and didn't have the worries and stresses I have now.

I did go to that exhibition and very marvellous it was too.
I haven't seen his autobiography but I might mention it to Mr Pops as a suitable alternative to an easter egg as I am still unable to eat chocolate.
