It's too damn hot!
It's 10:30pm where I am and the temp is 90 degrees. It got up to 102° today. This is the 3rd 100 plus day in the last two weeks. And when it wasn't 100 degrees it was pretty damn close. I haven't even started on the heat index, which was 108° for today.
I could have sworn I lived in Ohio. Not Arizona, not Louisiana, not Florida. Ohio.

Watching the Olympic trials last week there was a women's runner named English Gardener. This week there's a male runner named Kind Butler. WTF? These are not names. These are job descriptions.

i hate it when my tv shows disappoint me
One of the things I had about television is that someone always has to be the bad guy, even the good guys. I guess it's the drama thing, they add stuff to ramp up the drama so people will watch. my library is unintentionally frustrating me
My local library is running a Books and Brackets contest where you choose the best children's books. Some of the choices are easy (IMO, Alice in Wonderland is vastly superior to Peter Pan), but how exactly am I supposed to choose between Charlotte's Web and Where the Sidewalk Ends? you're only as old as you feel...until you realize exactly how old you are
Today is my son's 18th birthday. Next week I will be 36. Age doesn't really mean much to me, but I had a mini freak out moment when I realized I'm 4 years away from 40. First, baby update. My nephew, who was born 12 weeks early, is doing really well. They moved him downstairs to where the less critical NICU babies are a couple of weeks ago and yesterday he hit 3 pounds. So, things are looking good. Here he is:

Watching all these entitled white men discuss these women's issues is annoying the crap out of me. Watching the women who agree with those entitled white men pisses me off. fishtank survivor is not going well
Brandon always wants fish. I have no idea why, he just always wants fish. So my mother got him a little aquarium and some fish he can take back to school with him. We've had the fish for 24 hours.
