It seems that one image (ONE IMAGE) that was not recovered from my computer before it was shipped into the height of Hurricane Katrina for repair (and never heard from again... BWAhahahaha!), is the ONE IMAGE that a major portion of my thesis argument hangs on ( Read more... )

You might try this here web site. It will take a while, but if it's on teh Interwebs, your map will probably be here or on one of the sites it links to.

if you found it in the UA library, i'll be more than happy to go make a copy for you or what not (if you can remember the general search criteria, that'd be swell... i'll make them there librarians work for a change). also, in your description of said map, how detailed is the rendering and how many clouds were there? like was it just a few dark clouds around england or was it sort of like england as the island of clarity in a sea of dark menace?

Oh, that would be cool. I did find it at the UA library, but the thing is that I haven't touched it or worked with it or seen it for two years so I remember nothing about it. (I was waiting until this point to import my images...) It wasn't super detailed, but it had the brush stroke detail of the old yellow cartography and could have been a wood carving/print. And precisely the latter: england as the island of clarity in a sea of dark menace. If you aren't swamped with your own student-ness, inquiring with them would be great.

sorry care, when i went to the biblotheque last night, no one was able to find anything for me and my searches turned out to be futile. i went sunday, but the bastards weren't working because of some dude's ressurection. hee hee. wish i had a little more time to do this, but it's already tuesday and i come bearing no fruit. i'll keep looking if you need me to. apologies again.
