Strange week

One of my very good friends died last week and the funeral was monday. She has/had 3 children son 17 (just like dave) son 14 (just like mike) and daughter 11 (1 year younger than my twins). I remember the "not going to die" non-conversation when grandma died. It did make it harder... much harder. I never did get to say goodbye to her (pre-death that is). No one did. If death is a part of life then I say live hard and die well (the warrior in me is showing). I am still angry that we weren't allowed to mention anything about what was going on with grandma.. or a lot of other things. You know for an open and honest loving family we sure do have a lot of non-conversations, and god forbid we may disagree about something... or have a different point of view. I think that in a way I am disabled because of my rabid everything is wonderful and being strong is fine as long as you don't piss anyone off way of being brought up. I'm getting over it s-l-o-w-l-y, but still struggle to voice an opinion if I know ANYONE may disagree. If it's hard just don't talk about it and pretend that the pink elephant in the living room is a really big coffee table.
