i really couldn't stand kung fu hustle. i know tons of people who adored it but i think it was terrible. though i do love the god of cookery and shaolin soccer. check those out if you're into it.

also, the wire... we watched the first 6 or 7 episodes and tried and tried to get into it, but it's still not working. i'm not sure what's wrong with us since everyone on the planet is hooked on this show.

i have a friend who spent a day walking around holding hands with wesley willis once. interesting stories indeed. he loved headbutting people. it was a sign of affection.

There's certainly this obsession with The Wire that I don't quite understand. While I think it's good and I'll keep watching it (it took me about 8 episodes to decide I liked it), it wouldn't be the end of the world if I never saw it again. Today, actually, I had a friend tell me that her parents are so obsessed with the show that they've decided that they will be disowning friends that don't also watch and love it.

Wesley Willis is the guy who sang the song "Cut The Mullet."

"Take your ass to the barbershop.
Tell the barber you are tired of looking like an asshole.
Cut the mullet."

I saw Kung Fu Hustle in the theater and it was so freaking amazing, I laughed my ass off. My friend Eli adores Wesley Willis, he quotes him all the time and I think he even sculpted him long ago. I'll have to check out this documentary you speak of...
