My Sister's Keeper, Jodi Picoult. Pretty good, if you like tear jerkers (I do!). But the end left me disappointed ( Read more... )

Did you see that you wrote this comment in the future? That is very odd to me for some reason.

I did know! It's an easy way to keep it showing up as the first entry when I look at my recent entries. And that makes it easier for me to continue to add new books. :)

I figured it was done for a reason, I don't know why it just seemed so disconcerting to me!

I have read all of one book in 2006. I'm impressed!

I also LOVED The Time Traveler's Wife.

*nod* I totally stole the idea from other lj friends - I really like having an easy way to track what I'm reading.

Okay, if you loved the Time Traveler's Wife, what else would you recommend for me? :)

Hrm.
Well, I liked Namesake, by Jhumpa Lahiri, but not nearly as well as the other. I just finished Eragon by Paolini, which I like very much (even though I wasn't sure at first)--but it's not even close to the same kind of book, it's pure fantasy genre. I loved The Secret Life of Bees by Sue Monk Kidd, but that's old news to many people.

I'm liking, but not totally entranced by Phillipa Gregory's Earthly Joys, which is an older book of hers. I'm told (by people I trust) that her new one is far superior.

If the local bookstore ever gets it back in, I'm going to read Comfort Woman by Nora O. Keller next, for my moms' group book club.

Maybe not so helpful, eh?
