I think you would enjoy it if you gave it a chance. The moral center of the book is Levin, who is searching for a way to live a good, meaningful life. When he lets himself live without questioning he is happy and fulfilled but he can't let himself alone. He has to keep searching for a unifying meaning in his life. His search is fascinating, especially when his intellectual struggling is contrasted with Anna, who lets her emotions and senses lead her. Blah blah blah. It's good, read it!
The Stolen Child was excellent. And I loved Julie & Julia. I'd be glad to loan you both. I didn't like Nature Girl very much at all and wouldn't recommend it. I also really liked the Ursula Hegi, but would recommend that you read Stones from A River first. Or Intrusions.
