Suddenly realized that I was basically writing the next three chapters of Everything But at once, and that in reality, they would not do THAT before they do SOMETHING ELSE. And, possibly, Peeta might not be quite as dominant as he's acted in this chapter. Although - and this is interesting to think about - how much of the hijacking altered his ( Read more... )

And really, when someone who doesn't normally take charge takes charge, it can be hella hot. I'm just sayin'...

Right? While I believe that generally we have "subby Peeta" (not my term), I think that he, knowing Katniss better than anyone, would throw that off sometimes. And Katniss, once she got a ladder and got over herself, would...be pleased.

Oh, I have the feeling Peeta could be insanely hot being the one in control. And it doesn't even necessarily have to do with hijacking--him realizing he doesn't have to be gentle and selfless and eager to please all the time is a powerful realization personally as well as sexually.

Not like I've considered this or anything in the course of HID. (COUGH) ;) Have the feeling that for the duration of their stay in Thirteen, K/P are still in that giddy exploratory phase where it's all so new that straying far out of the comfort zone isn't as likely to happen. Pretty much "God, stop being so adorable, you two."

H/J, now there's a headache I'm considering and it's sort of in the same vein as your issue. When it comes to those two idiots it's trying to figure out how much of how they approach sex and the general dom/sub and passive/aggressive dynamics of it is from the Capitol-induced personas they had to play for their patrons and how much is genuine.

Which just makes the straightforwardness of K/P all the more attractive. XD

Yeah, H/J is a conundrum. Because I do think they might turn to each other, and they make more sense to me than anyone else (although I did read one or two H/E stories that stunned me with their goodness, and I generally don't ship them). But yeah, they're so inherently fucked up that I don't know how long it might take them to approach even a fraction of normal. Maybe...Haymitch might talk to Finnick about it? Hell, they both might.

I do like the straightforwardness of K/P, what there is of it. I agree that your K/P in 13 are not suddenly going to start digging through storage rooms for leather or using the room where the prep team was held. :-) That's...an entirely different story.

Exactly. I know H/E and J/G are far more popular, but to me the bedrock raison d'etre to H/E is "they have snarky banter and can't stand each other!" and J/G is "she said he was cute!" Which to me is...not much to go on ( ... )

the best subs make the best doms, so I can totally see Peeta being a dom once he's comfortable enough with his partner to realize that what goes on in the bedroom is usually completely different than what goes on in the public eye. Also, I think Katniss wants to defer to someone eventually, it's exhausting to have to be the one in control all of the time, and if she could hand over those reins to someone she trusted beyond a shadow of a doubt, it would be incredibly satisfying.

That's exactly how I feel about Katniss - she's been in control since she was 11, and wouldn't it be nice to just let someone else try it for awhile?

Amen to that.

I wouldn't say it's as erotically DAYUM THAT'S HAWT as the normally mild-mannered person becoming the dom, but when someone so in control really lets go like that, that's a huge moment in terms of intimacy and trust.
