And Another Thing... (SPN: Citizen Fang)

This may actually truly be me seeing something that isn't there, but I'm not willing to rule out the possibility that it means something.  *G*

When we get the horrified reaction shot when Sam first sees Amelia, and it cuts to her, this is what we see, for a split second:

I like it! Might not be anything but I like the idea. And yeah...Amelia really did need to be warned I think. (Or maybe Sam's peen is no longer a killer. ;D)

I love how this ep was filmed I have to say.

Well, "Sam Winchester's Amazing Reformed Peen o' Death" just doesn't have the same ring to it... *G*

One thing I've noticed this season is that the color palette is much brighter and they're not giving everything that gray-green tinge that was the norm in earlier seasons. And there are a lot more daylight shoots, too. I think maybe that's one of the things that's giving me that strong WRONGWRONGWRONG vibe--Dean's flashbacks feel more like the cinematography I'm used to seeing from Show; the Winchesters operating in bright daylight instead of from the shadows makes them seem way more vulnerable than they should be.

Hah, that's why the scenes from "We Need to Talk About Kevin" that were in Kevin's abandoned church felt a lot less weird than the stuff on the college campus.

All through the season, we've seen a lot more natural, unfiltered light, even in the scenes in people's houses. Hmmm, I think there's some kind of meta in that...

Oooh, camille_is_here just made the point further down in the comments that in this shot, Amelia is posed as the Immaculate Heart of Mary (or the Sacred Heart of Jesus, but clothes colors make me think Mary). In which case, that scene really is telling us that there's something else going on with Sam and Amelia, because you do not get that kind of imagery by accident.

And if it is supposed to invoke the Madonna, then that's a whole new avenue of exploration, because Show has used Madonna imagery a lot. Some even this season, I think, in Kevin's abandoned church.

I'm not so sure that we're not supposed to be starting to tend toward the "monster" side of the equation, really. I'm certain we're supposed to be questioning the boys and what they're telling us.

I like the idea of all those triangles. I make note that you did not include Sam, Dean and Castiel in that list, though, that's very interesting. They've certainly set up Sam-Dean-Amelia as a triangle with Dean's scorn about Sam leaving him to die for a girl. I also think that if you exclude Sam-Amelia-Don, the triangles themselves make another kind of triangle. That's going to be significant later, I think, the way those triads revolve around each other with the Sam-Dean-Castiel triad as the center. That is a very complex series of orbits.

I was raised Methodist, and neither of those images ever showed up in church or church literature, so I wouldn't have recognized that; thank you!

And after googling images for both of those, I think maybe it is the Immaculate Heart of Mary--she's usually depicted as wearing a red dress with a blue cloak over it, and Amelia is wearing a shirt with pink trim and a blue jacket. With the Sacred Heart, Jesus is usually depicted in white with a red cloak, and Amelia's shirt is mostly grey, with a little white, and the pink stripes. It could be a combination of the two, but yeah, because of Sam's mother, I'm leaning toward Mary.

Huh. Well, with creepy angel Rachel involved, Amelia's entire being could very well be an angel constructed fabrication Sam has gotten mixed up in.

Man, if there's nothing supernatural about Amelia at all, I will be very disappointed with Show, after all this buildup...
