I just wish stores would make it a point to not offer them anymore or charge people for them as an incentive to get them to use reusable. ya know?

Ikea charges a nickel for a plastic bag. Or, they were at least, I think they still do. I will be honest and say, I like them now and again, cuz we use them for dog poop on walks.

But, I'm trying to be good about using cloth at least 98% of the time.

Ikea does charge. What bugs me about Ikea, or at least the one here, is that you cant take the carts into the damn parking lot so this whole "save a bag" thing is retarded cause how the fuck am I supposed to get shit to my car?

I use the trader joes bags as trash bags as much as I can, at least those are biodegradable.

Yeah, I'm totally cool with not taking a bag at Ikea in theory. But then I'm left with how the hell do I get these random things + toddler back to the car with everyone/thing in one piece.

TJ's bags AND balloons(!) are biodegradable.

I really would never take plastic bags again if I didn't have to pick up dog poop on walks. But, at least I'm picking up the dog crap, right? heh

It's funny, I've always thought plastic bags were a waste, but now with a kid it bothers me more. I'm so much more aware of the state of the planet and the sorry mess we're handing over to our kids, ya know?
