Lorelai hits #1 on her cell phone speed dial and impatiently waits for her daughter to answer her phone.

"Hey Mom!" Rory says, taking her phone out of the busy yearbook meeting, and finding a secluded corner.

Lorelai immediately notices the background noise.

"Hey, kid. I just got your note from Luke. Is this a bad time?"

"No, no, it's fine. I just got out of my meetin for a second, and, well, this is important. I wanted to tell you as soon as I could, because I don't want you to hear it from someone else."

Lorelai is automatically worried.

"What's wrong? Did you get attacked by gremlins or something? I heard there is some weird stuff going on in that school."
