Well, maybe I should have said I read too much fiction?

I love to take baths but the thought of soaking in dirty water grosses me out. I liked that you washed and then climbed into the pools, which had circulating water.

Lovely!

Mmm... I love carnations too. Of course, my preference is on a salad... They're second only to nasturtiums and tied with pansies. :-)

Hmm, I never thought about eating carnations. They are so often colored and that just doesn't seem right somehow.

They're actually really quite tasty. I don't recommend the ones from a normal florist though. They use artificial dyes to enhance color, preservative and insecticide sprays and all sorts of other nasty stuff.

But if you can get ones from a gardener or food supply shop, they make a great garnish for a salad. I have a particular soft spot for nasturtiums on a ceaser salad. They have a natural peppery flavor that compliments quite nicely.

Other edible flowers: Pansies, roses, violets, lavender, marigolds...

Odd fact 1: During my teenage years I made spending money working for my mom's business of the time, St. David Flowers, providers of fresh food-grade herbs and flowers to many of the upscale resturants of Tucson.

I'll do 24 more when I have some free time... maybe after I finish my new hat and get back from War.
