A little howl of self pity

Does anyone actually read this thing any more or am I just typing into thin air?

On the flip side, I'm trying to catch up with you folks. Some of you have lives that are like TV shows - I missed a bunch of episodes and now there are new characters and I don't know any of the story arcs, and I'm kinda lost.

I read your journal, but I think the only person I recognize in it any more is E. You lead a very active social life. I can barely keep up with reading it. I don't know how you keep up with living it.

I don't even recognize E anymore, to be honest.

You know, people go to classes and read books and do all sorts of infant enrichment programs to get kids like yours, and here you do it all on accident.

She's reading Rexroth's poetry translations? Admittedly to annoy you, but still--Rexroth. Sweet zombie Jesus, I've never heard the like.

I got sick, so I spent much of it alternating between lying on the floor watching Deadliest Catch, and eating out.

It was really kind of awesome. :D

Please tell me, for the irony of it, that you got sick from eating bad crab.

You've got quite a bit going on, don't you? I'm glad you are looking to take measures to address some stuff that's been getting you down. I know from experience it's incredibly hard to do, but it's worth it.

These days I'm more distracted and exhausted than actually busy. I still manage to make time to spend an hour or two on LiveJournal most days. And, yes. Self-care is difficult but always worth doing.
