Earlier today, a friend of mine made a post that was at least tangentially related to Hannukah. As part of my reply I included some information on the origins and traditions surrounding Hannukah. We will also have winter break!

Nola resigned from Sylvan because she got a great job teaching at Natick High, so she's on a public school schedule now, and my classes are done the 16th.

I had always been under the impression that both the seven-branched menorah and the nine-branched hannukiah were types of menorah (menorot? menorem? my conjugation is terrible). Kind of like how a square is also a rectangle but a rectangle is not necessarily a square.
