I went to the family get-together Christmas thingy at my Dad and Stepmom's yesterday. It was fun as always seeing them and my siblings, their spouses and my sister's kids, my step-siblings and their spouses

I don't envy your situation re: the trust fund. Money and family don't mix well. There was an issue with an inheritance on my mother's side of the family and it caused all kinds of problems within the family. They were all eventually resolved, but it left scars, and while it didn't involve me directly, I did come to believe after the whole fiasco that the money shouldn't have been touched until all the conditions set forth in the will had been met
