Going on the job market
I have so far applied to 41 schools, and here are the number of schools in each state (or Canada):
California: 6
Connecticut: 1
Indiana: 3
Iowa: 2
Maryland: 1
Massachusetts: 4
Michigan: 1
New Jersey: 1
New York: 4
North Carolina: 3
Ohio: 1
Oregon: 3
Pennsylvania: 3
Tennessee: 1
Texas: 2
Vermont: 1
Washington: 1
Canada: 3
We have a desired area in mind that only covers 24% of the schools on the list! If you add the next tier of desirability to the list, then it's around 37%. Still, these are signs of a pretty tight job market!
BTW, I won't post on a public entry which schools made it to the highly desirable location list. You never know who has found my blog. Plus, we might decide we like some of the other places we currently don't know too much about.
