And off!

To Fresno and Mom support.

The good news: She's not got any kind of leukemia. The bad news: We've got a temp home place for her. She's saying a week--because all she wants is to get to her own house--and we're saying, you've got to be able to stand on your own two feet and stay balanced.

Yeah, we'll see.

Good news indeed. She sounds determined, I hope she'll regain her strength.

I hope so too. I can't deal with the idea of Mom someplace else long term. That's probably her greatest fear.

Hope it goes well. I understand the determination to remain independant.

And there are far too many elderly women living independently--because their children are distant or they have no one left. I keep thinking Mom's better off than many of her friends. (She probably won't feel that way if we insist she have full-time care for a bit longer. And having that care in the house as a paid position? Eesh. Way more money than we have.)

Stay firm. It's horrible, but falling and re-injuring yourself can be the end of mobility and once you've lost that -- you're doomed to be cared for.

Glad about the good news!
