January is for episode 1 of series 4 - Partners in Crime!  I’m cutting in fine, and I haven’t watched the Confidential episode even though I had planned to, but I’m posting in January in time with my calendar.

Woohoo! I'm glad you enjoyed it! I'll definitely be trying to review one a month. It ended up being a bit longer than I intended (I wasn't planning on it being illustrated!) but I couldn't help myself. I flipped my calendar over to February today, so I'm looking forward to starting that one.

And I love your icon! I really wanted to 'quote' that scene but I had no idea how to. I get a bit lost through Donna's charades and am not quite sure what she's trying to say towards the end!

I L.O.V.E.D. this entire season. You did a great recap here. Right down to the Big Question. David and Catherine are my favorite duo.

David and Catherine are my favorite duo. Of course! Now why didn't I think to add that to my recap!? They are just so funny together - I'm still not tired of watching Never Mind the Buzzcocks. I even love just listing to the radio shows! Those two are a great team.

And I'm glad you liked the recap - I'll try to keep up my schedule and recap the rest of series over the year!

I might be wrong, but I think the catpeople reference is to "Gridlock" in season 3.

I think you might be right! Gridlock as well as New Earth in season 2 (if that's what the episode was called). I know the references now, but series 4 was the first I had seen and so back then I didn't know what it was referring to. I didn't even realise that the Doctor was referring to a previous episode! I just assumed it was a random comment. I missed something without even knowing that there was something to miss!

lol - I've only seen New Earth once, but I love the elevator/disinfectant/shower thing and the Doctor/Cassandra ("I'm beating out a samba")!! I really must watch it again

I was actually hesitant about Donna until I saw this episode~ But then I fell in love, right there and then.

Great review!

Donna can certainly be a bit full-on! There was quite a bit of raised voices and slapping in the Runaway Bride. But once we get past that, she's brilliant!

Thanks for commenting and I'm glad you liked it.

You totally had me giggling all the way through this, especially with the caps you did of Donna's "you just want to MATE?" lololol

It makes me wonder if there are jokes that reference Classic Who which go straight over my head - Oh me too; I'm pretty sure there are heaps. There are enough references to New Who as it is - I mean, imagine trying to understand Journey's End without having seen series 1 or 2 or 3.

that’s one thing that points to them being equals - they have no problem picking on each other. There’s no fear of superiority. - Excellent point, and I think that's what made me fall so immediately hard for the Doctor/Donna relationship - not that I didn't love Martha and Rose, but it was so refreshing to have someone not so in awe of the Doctor.

Anyway, yay, great review! Looking forward to February's. :D

The caps you did of Donna's "you just want to MATE?" - I have a whole folder of screencaps but I didn't realise just how funny the caps of that scene were! I was thinking of just using one each of the Doctor and Donna, but they were just too good! I had to put them both in.

When I saw Journey's End I had only seen series 4 and the second half of series 3, and I was a bit confused. I had a general idea of who Rose was, but I definitely had a much better understanding once I'd caught up.

Someone not so in awe of the Doctor. It's a great friendship between them and I think it's probably good for the Doctor too. Not necessarily 'bringing him down a peg' but more just not on a pedestal.

I'm happy you liked the review, and I'm looking forward to February's!
