A small blip from the Paranoid Publishing Company

Jan 05, 2009 22:38

We were asked to remove a picture of hot dogs from one of our books because hot dogs contain nitrates which are Bad for Children.

I can think of a much better reason we shouldn't show fourth graders a picture of hot dogs, but whatever.

Thank you, at least I amuse myself and you. :)

I cannot get traction on any one project - definitely need another night!

lol yes i know, me too. i'm upset because i took the hot dog picture. i was advocating the "vegan dog" retort, but anyway... stickler publishers crack me up sometimes. i think one of my favorites was the veto on the stapler because kids will want to staple themselves if they see a picture of one, and the peanut causing allergic reactions in children if shown on a cover as a jelly bean flavor.

on the literacy nosedives, i attribute it to having had the president we had for the past 8 years. no wonder we is not learning.

I had no idea you took that hot dog picture! Oh well. Next time: photos of kids eating kale. Because they can all relate to that, right?
