Didn't they used to play games like that at school? Blindfold you and lead you places? Like the "trust the kid behind you to catch you" game...

The nose-wall thingie requires set-up, and I can't imagine any point in making it a thought experiment. It needs to be experienced.

Stop me if you already knew this. You need an east-west wall in an elevated position, so that your victims can see the horizon in their peripheral vision. Best chance is in the Summer. Then if all goes well, they will actually feel the Earth rotate as the Sun rises. This from Buckminster Fuller, I think.
