Low Cost-High Quality Promise Rings anonymous February 9 2007, 14:51:44 UTC
Shopping online certainly can lower the price of your diamond choices. There are some very good online diamond sellers that have no questions asked return policies, if you don't like your ring. You really have nothing to lose. Here is a ring that I found that is really nice and in his price range http://www.secretdiamond.com/3StoneDiamondEngagementRing-idv-25-6.html

This site also has many more great diamond rings with very low cost. Hope that helps!

Wow, is Livejournal selling us out now, or are there actually people who go around searching blogs to market their sites?

Unless you are a friend of mine, in which case you should've totally identified yourself.

And that ring is nice, but it's WAY too "engagement." She would definitely freak out and feel too pressured if she saw that thing.

Kim, how can you pair a diamond (albeit only .6 carat) with sterling silver? EVERY GIRL knows diamond should only go with platinum or at the very least, white gold =P. Tsk tsk! =P

I definitely agree with the white gold or platinum point. However, I find the whole promise ring concept a bit sappy and not needed. I do confess though, that if someone were to ever offer me one and assuming I did plan on marrying that person eventually, I definitely wouldn't turn it down! :)

I think that having a diamond in a promise ring pretty much resembles a low cost engagement ring. So...I'd personally prefer some other sort of gem(maybe red or pink colored) or a simple but stylish band without any embellishments. For example, the number one equus ring but without the diamond.

Well, I told him he can always give her a nice ring without calling it a "promise ring." I think it would put too much pressure on her. But I'll suggest what you say to him, although unfortunately I think he's really excited about the whole "diamond ring" thing, since it has been ingrained in our culture as the best of the best.
