When Lana realized that fireworks were going to take place out over the river she decided it would be a great excuse to have friends over. She handwavily called or emailed everyone she knew and told them to bring along anyone they wanted. Ben and Michael had been needing to get out of the apartment and socialize, and what better reason than the 4th of July? Lana's invitation couldn't have come at a better time. The door was open and they entered Lana's apartment, a gift for the hostess in Ben's hands.

Having been indoors way too much lately, Ben and Michael took the opportunity to sit in the courtyard and enjoy the weather.

Kiki laid out a blanket on the grass and settled in to watch the fireworks. She'd seen them before, but this was her first time where people blew things up like this to celebrate American independence. She was looking forward to it.

The blanket, for the record, is large enough to accomodate many more people, and Kiki's got the skills to make it a little bigger if space starts running low!

As for Jiji, Kiki's pretty sure he's at home, hiding under her bed.
