Congratulations to all of you on the Top 10! Haha, I can't believe it! So many of my former housemates -- Go Gryffindor! -- making the list. This made my day. Any of you getting followed around now? Neville -- when on earth did you get Order of Merlin first class?

My favorite issue of Witch Weekly yet!

Don't tell me you missed the ceremony. Lavender Brown, miss a chance to get dolled up?

There was a ceremony a few months back, Lav. Don't you remember? It was big headline news? Or don't you read anything other than Witch Weekly?

Oh, was there? Well, I wasn't around. I was in France -- didn't Parvati tell you? I guess she really had forgotten about me. Well, it's nice to hear from you, Padma! Did Terry ever pass on the hello I sent thru him?

Oh, well. That explains it.

Parvati didn't tell me, actually. And no, Terry hasn't. But he's been more than a little scatterbrained than normal lately, so I can forgive him for apparently forgetting.

How have you been, Lav?

Bored, annoyed, alone... Just fine! I'm working for Ollivander's now. It re-opened last week. A bit boring, of course. I'm supposed to be his apprentice, but mostly I've just been watching the storefront while he does some experiments in his workshop. He's releasing a new line of wands -- Abbraxan core. Remember that BeauBaton headmistress's flying horses? Apparently their wings have strong magical powers. I use unicorn tail, myself.

How about yourself? What sort of a job are you working at? And, of course, because life isn't the same without beaus -- how is your love life?

Why am I not surprised?

Did you ever find gainful employment, Miss Brown, or did you remain intellectually vacuous and therefore find yourself in pecuniary crisis?

Surely even you have better things to do with your time?

You miserable old-- intellectually vacuous? What the bloody hell does that mean?
Actually, Professor, you might be surprised to hear that I am working under Mr. Ollivander (maker of fine wands) as an apprentice.

What is wrong with picking up an issue of Witch Weekly? Are you a bit sore that you weren't chosen as one of the top 10?

Glad to hear it - you are not starving in the hedgerows, then.

Remind me to be wary of wand purchases there in the future.

Nothing at all, Miss Brown, except that one would hope after all this time you have learnt to read something with a slightly broader vocabulary. Something more intellectually challenging than the common vernacular and simple gossip.

Then again, I will concede that this particular issue was highly amusing.

I'm not the sort of person to starve the hedgegrows regardless, Professor Snape.

I am intellectually stimulated at my work -- it should be no crime that I pick up something to relax with. I thought that this was a very well done article and issue.

It's not. Sadly. But that's Lavender. If one approaches her expecting something profound, they're typically disappointed.

Is that so? How sad...

Isn't it? She's a good person, but there are times during my toleration of her (since she is my sister's best friend) where I wanted to slam my head against a wall to make it hurt less.

If she is able to resist fangirling all over you, you'll be lucky.
