So this morning I was nauseous. I discovered that checking "drinking" on my signs chart decreases my "chance" of being pregnant by a pretty significant percent. The program uses its database of signs entered and correlates them to pregnancies achieved. Apparently, most women don't drink while ttc. I think right now that I have something like a 47% ( Read more... )

Eh, I'm betting that she brought it out because she got bitched out. You did the right thing :)

Coffee O. Well you see. It's Rusty's fault. He deserves to know what he has implemented in his business. He ran off every skilled employee (Ryan, Clayton, et cetera) and hired a shit ton of newbies. He then, as always, refuses to properly train said employees, and has sent most of these kids in blind, and under the supervision of morons. The two people who have worked there longer than a month or two are the same two employees who could not retain how to properly make any food or beverages. They are the people training. I wouldn't expect anything to taste good ever again. Seriously. It isn't going to get btter. Coffee Paradise is delightful, however. I recommend it.

Rusty is losing quite a few customers. The store is filthy, the food and drinks are bad, the help is poorly trained and (in the evenings) high. People are calling Ryan to tell him they won't go back-- and Ryan doesn't work there anymore. Shrug.

We tend to not complain, but you were a customer, period, and deserved to be treated as such.

The only other thing I would have done would have been walked up to the register, and said, "My service and drinks were horrible, and done incorrectly. I was treated rudely, and I would like a full refund." Given what you said, you would have, probably, been refused. Then, because I AM a bitch, I would have whipped out the cell and called right in front of the register, blocking all the incoming customers, and being certain they knew how awful the service was so they left. It also would have demonstrated my position in front of the staff.

But I'm a bitch. And you did the right thing.

Sick, bad day, whatever, you do NOT take it out on your customers. That went beyond just bad service, that was HORRENDOUS.

I think you were right to call Rusty (by the by, the phrase "I'll call Rusty" brings up fond memories for most Canadians... a catch phrase for a most beloved television show), but you might want to call him again and let him know that the girl apologized for her behaviour and made amends. It's one thing to make a mistake; it's another to make one and then try to resolve it. You never know what kind of pain ordinary people are dealing with... she might have had an abortion last week or something, you know?

Yeah, you know, understanding that people go through stuff is what made me start to rethink my phone call in the first place. And there were 2 girls involved, and the one who brought out the card and was crying was totally not the one who had been such a colossal jerkface. Granted, she didn't seem to give a shit that the other girl was doing so horribly, but that's half my working career.

I think you're right though, giving Rusty a shout out to let him know that she resolved it is a very good idea. Maybe I'll go in for a cuppa one morning this week and call him later to let him know the service was good and oh by the way, she cleaned it up.

I really hope, though, that the ass-chewing eventually landed squarely on the shoulders of the B3 (Bratty Blond Bitch) who botched up the orders and acted so rudely.

I agree with grammardog about calling Rusty again and am ashamed that I didn't think of that. Still, while people do go through stuff and all, your work place is not a place to take it out on other people or to seek counseling. I used to work and there was a buttload of crap I went through one year but I never NEVER took it out on my customers.

It's really damned hard to make the call (I wouldn't have had the nerve) and I hate to make their job harder, but the hope is to make the place better, not to be a bitch. Doesn't sound like you were. I did finally write (first paragraph) Taliesin West when the guide was so bad that I thought it would be best for the program to tell them what I thought.

And I've had the same fear of fish tacos.
