what's avi and mpg?

AVI stands for Audio Video Interleave. This file format conforms to the Microsoft Windows Resource Interchange File Format (RIFF) specification, which makes it convenient for sharing the file with others that may need to view the video. AVI files (which typically end in the .avi extension) require a specific player that may be included with your Web browser.

mpg...I'm not really sure what that one is. I know it's a video extention but I never use it because I don't know about it
