I got an online quote for moving my stuff. It came to £1300. My stuff isn't even worth that much!

Today shall mostly be spent finding another way of moving my stuff down the country. Hiring a van would possibly be cheapest but I have no designated driver (my Mum won't, Monkey and I cannot).

Im already stressed out. I predict a stroke by mid-March

when did you say your practical test was? Could you not try hassling them to give you an earlier date or let you know if someone cancels?

Im far far too timid to pass my test and jump straight into a transit van and go all the way down the M6. An utter recipe for disaster I'm afraid, I'll have never driven on a motorway before and I dont think that would be the time to try it! I dont have a practical date yet either, can't get one till i pass my theory. Also, being under 25 means some places wont rent me a van and others will charge me lots of extra cash. I should have sorted myself out sooner really, but sadly I am not an option :(

Ach, could you sell a lot of your stuff and use your cash to rebuy some of it when you're down there?

Hahaha, I need to do that anyway! Its shameful how much stuff I have. I have to pack everything because my Mum is moving house in September, so what I dont take to Watford has to be boxed to move to Cupar. I can feel the spots breaking out all over my face from stress as we speak! (and yet I'm still sat at my computer...funny that!)

I'll have a look. I dunno if anyone would be daft enough for a 900 mile round trip! Thanks!

Forget the proper moving companies and scour local papers for a van and driver.

A man with a van who isn't bothered by a 15 hour round trip!

A job's a job. James had no problem finding one from Suffolk to Cumbria, 14 hours round trip.

Definitely look out for transit vans driving round advertising man and van or in the papers etc. Should imagine it'll cost though
