So today I whacked my middle finger head on against my desk and completely cracked and broke the nail. Crap! My manicurist isn't open on Monday so I made do with a cheapy glue on tip and some polish. Not too shabby, eh?

Jason and I fixed our leaking tub faucet yesterday. I'm so proud. It's funny. Home repair stuff is usually pretty damned simple and inexpensive, but people (even us) pay big money to service people to fix this stuff. $20 for parts and 2 hours of our time compared to $260 paid to a plumber last year who didn't even fix the problem? I knew something was terribly wrong with Jula when I sent her home to her owners last month. Despite my pleas, her owner never got around to taking her to the vet until she had a seizure this past Friday. The vet ran blood work and from the numbers gave her a diagnosis of cancer. She recommended that Jula be put down immediately due to her ( Read more... ) -
Sad News
Our surrogate Boston Terrier, Jula, died last night. It was cancer. We buried her in her owner's back yard by flashlight. I'll post more later. -

I need good vibes
I dropped Jula off at the vet this morning to have her teeth cleaned. At her advanced age there is a serious risk putting her under anesthesia. She really needs her teeth cleaned and I think she is suffering from some pain due to decay, so it needs to be done. I just hope my baby makes it through. I want to see her droopy little face again this ( Read more... ) -
Update
As it turns out, after Mario had been thrown out of the club he decided - in his inibriated state - to walk home from the club, which is a good 10 miles or so. He was struck by a drunk driver while he was trying to cross the road in the 1900 block of the West Loop - presumably on the feeder. The driver has been charged with intoxication ( Read more... ) -

Joann just called me. Mario was killed last night. He was somehow struck by an 18 wheeler while walking somewhere near Drink Houston. He'd gotten kicked out of the club for fighting. He'd accidentally called Javier thinking he was calling the friend he'd been with in the club. He said he'd been kicked out and he'd be waiting by the car. ( Read more... ) -

I love Take5 candy bars. Seriously. They have everything you could ever want in a candy bar. Chocolate, caramel, peanut butter, peanuts, pretzels. My coworker Jeff is the devil for introducing me to them. That is all.
