OMG Westwood is a shithole!! I'm not in the habit of writing detailed little posts about where I am during the days, but Westwood is such a shithole I just had to comment on it! I paid $9 to park on the UCLA campus and then asked people where there was like a college strip at which to get food and wireless, and everyone told me go to Westwood

When I was at UCLA there was a place on campus that actually served really good food--the Bomb Shelter, somewhere on South Campus, I think near the life sciences court. They had delicious goat cheese and roasted red peppers paninis, not-bad-sushi, taco bowls. I ate there almost every day.

and *no* you can't expect a stranger to help you. that is definitely a problem with states like California, and the southern parts of it are the worst. I don't expect you'd get any better assistance on average anywhere from here to Mexico, though I haven't been to Mexico, so that's where my knowledge ends.
back when I was a kid through teenage, Westwood was awesome. developed in the 1920s and booming ever since. there were musicians on streetcorners, knickknack peddlers with bright shiny stationary pushcarts, local restaurants aplenty, and there was even a place you could sing karaoke in and make a record. there were hansom cab rides all around the village, and hay bales for the horses stacked on the sidewalk. we used to sit on them ( ... )
