Monday Morning!

Well I kind-of had it out with one of the teacher's at Aiden's daycare.  She had made a statement to the point of her thinking Aiden was going to cut all his hair off this past weekend.  I turned to her and said no. I am going to let it grow some more.  She then turns and goes...why?  It bothers him too much.  I said no it does not...then she goes ( Read more... )

I realy love this daycare. Ariana went there and they are really good to Aiden. The teacher I was talking about is really good with Aiden, but doesn't know when to keep her mouth shut sometimes. I actually like for the most part. I just don't like being told about what my son likes and doesn't like. I mean...I am his mother...I think I know. I do not mind them telling me their opinions on things...it is just the way she does it. I guess today I just finally had it. I have taken a lot of crap from people, because I do not tell them what I think about things... because I do not want to argue or cause conflict...but I have gotten to the point where I have gotten over that now. I am a very strong person...I just really haven't shown it in awhile:P

They can either like or not, but that is who I am and I am not going to stop being me because of it...

I think it is a good thing that you said something to the teacher and the director. Do you remember about two years ago when one of the aides at Alex's school cut his bangs, and badly I might add. I was SO pissed off I wanted to beat the guy with something. He said the same thing too, "...but they were bothering him" when actually they were only bothering the aide.

So, I guess my point is that I think it is good you had this confrontation before anything like that occurred.

I think I do remember that. It just drives me crazy when they think they know what is best. I probably know my child better than anyone...even Ryan. I have never seen Aiden get bothered by his hair. He plays with his hair, but he also plays with my hair. The first time I cut his hair short...he freaked out! I really try to do what is best for my child, and I try to do things that are LESS STRESSFUL for him. This morning I guess I just finally had had it. I like the teacher...I think she is good with him... BUT I AM HIS MOTHER. Of course you know all this...you have been there as well. I just wish people would try to understand more,

Yeah, I agree. Is the teacher in question knowledgeable about autism and sensory disorders? Maybe it wouldn't even matter if she was, some people just don't respect personal boundries...agh...

Oh, also, Alex uses sippy cups always and he is going to be nine this month. He wont drink out of anything else. He doesn't like the liquid to get on his mouth (sensory issues again). I think he will drink out of other cups eventually but for now he is happy and that is what matters. I wouldn't be too worried about the bottle at bedtime. : )

Thanks. Aiden does well with sippy cups. But when he wants a bottle. He wants a bottle. It is not worth the stress, meltdown of not giving it to me. He uses it to relax. Thanks for your comments...they mean a lot!

my sil cuts her sons hair when they are sleeping. they take medication to help them sleep so they are out like a light when she does it. but they will not allow it to happen otherwise. one is moderate and the other severe in the degrees autism.
my niece has really long hair so i guess she doesn't bother trying to cut it.

i will call you as soon as i can (tomorrow afternoon ?) about the carpet. my husband took our twins to work with him today so i couldnt have them go look in the shed and garage for me.

Thzt is when we have to cut it as well. When Aiden is sleeping and hope that it looks okay when he gets up:P Ihave to go buy a measuring tape...because Aiden hide ours in his stash somewhere. I will have to follow him and find out where that is. Probably in the corner of the closet...but I can not take things from it...if he is not here. No problem. If I am not home...just leave a message or email me. I will be at the gym later today as well.
