Well, unless I get an assignment from a publication, the people at David Bowie's PR cannot give me a photo pass for the concert. I will still try with a few different publications...just not sure where to look right now. Maybe something national that doesn't have a photographer or reporter here for the show? Any suggestions? There are a lot of online Concert Magazines that feature reviews and photo's from shows. You have already proven you can shoot concerts with skill, so approach them and show them your work and chances are they'll want you to cover local shows for them. Then you can approach whomever you want to shoot and say "I work for these people". That's how I started shooting the big boys...unfortunately the magazine I shot and reviewed for no longer exists or I'd make sure you were in there.

Will do a more detailed search later today, just walked in the door. Did a quickie search and found this site in your neck of the woods (on accident), they might be a good one to contact. Seems a lot of the sites I used to know of no longer exist. :(

I am bummed. There used to be like a good 20 online concert photo/review sites that I knew of and NONE of them exist anymore. It didn't even occur to me for you to explore a route you're already going, magazines. Try Rolling Stone, Alternative Press, all the big ones (they use local people for almost all shows) and then also hit your local Indie Music Store and pick up all those little free music 'zines, they pay almost nothing for concert pix, but they get you into the shows and get you photo passes. With the shots you already have, you can show them you have the eye.
