Today I:

-Woke up at 5 AM (sucked)

-Waited on/hopped a ride on MARTA at 6:45 (blew)

-Attended GSU's orientation (boring as hell)

-Got my schedule set for next semester. I have no class before 11 AM and nothing on Fridays, and all my classes are easy (v. good)

-Hung out with old_danube and his crew and got tipsy, not drunk (fun, good people ( Read more... )

Although depression has been successfully shown to be treated by serotogenic and dopaminogenic (from which norepinephrine effects come), this poses a problem for patients with gastrointestinal conditions. The gastrointestinal system involves many 5-HT receptors. Furthermore, SNRI drugs pose problems for patients with anxiety disorders, which are quite often comorbid with major depressive disorder. In light of these constrictions, please describe an effective treatment method. Be specific.

We should give the depressed people shotguns. Or cut off their arms and legs and throw them in a really big hole.

I fail to see how that affects 5-HT receptors.

Oh, is that what we were talking about? I became distracted by all the pop culture references.

I still get excited about every single comment I get. Sometimes I almost die because I'm full of glee, but that's better than wanting to hang myself because my entry got 0 comments.

What classes are you taking?

This History of the Motion Picture course, which for some reason I didn't already have credit for, but whatever, it's going to be an easy A and I need an easy A. I'm taking German, a course over American lit of the first half of the century, a philosophy course I need for core requirements, and a political science class covering global issues. This year has been almost entirely devoted to getting credit in core classes.

I hope that isn't how it is at GSU. Or do I hope that is how it is? I don't know. I'd like to both be fluent in the language and not have to work very hard to make an A, but right now, the A is more important.

Woot.

It's 5:18 am and I think both your boredom today will be good, as well as your more frequent updating. They will help ease me through this job.

I'm not sure if you've seen this:

But if you get super bored, you should try one. I am. It's ridiculously time-consuming, but pretty much the most fun list I've had to come up with in my life.

Fun list. I definitely don't have that much free time this next week, but I'll consider it as soon as finals are over. Jesus.

I've been working on it since Wednesday or Thursday and I've only got 86.

I really wish I hadn't cancelled Netflix, now. All those movies I rated would sure come in handy. I'm thinking about re-subscribing today, just so I can finish this list.

Yeah, I'd have that to help me out. I'm kinda pissed at them right now, though - I went on a Western renting spree about a month ago, and after watching about 20 I sent 'em all back, but they still say I have Red River at home.

We had those posters everywhere in my high school's library. I used to crack jokes about the different celebrities and the books they were reading before I realized that there was always some connection.

I also find it ironic that Sean Connery is holding up a picture book.
