an experiment with my mood and the passing of time

In the beginning...
When I saw Bringing Up Baby for the first time I thought it was a very strange movie because I thought they were regarding the leopard was actually supposed to be a normal housecat, which didn’t make any sense to me. I later found out that they did actually realize that he was, in fact, a leopard, which made the movie far less ( Read more... )

I plan on hanging around the ATL for long periods of time the next couple of days, you should come visit, if you don't have a prior engagement. Otherwise I hate you. Just kidding.

We have met! We've known each other longer than most, if not all, of my e-friends! E-meeting is the new meeting!

you city is much citier than my city, i think. my city is a low lying bowl of sin, yours is a tall standing forest of concrete.

well just what makes a city msnvwls January 10 2006, 21:59:58 UTC
What your city lacks in skyscrapers, it certainly makes up for with debauchery and slums. And jazz. It doesn't matter, though - I love New Orleans, or at least, the idea of New Orleans. I don't know what NOLA is/was like, because I've never been there, but if it's anything like what you say it is...

Ouch. Ouch. That's just mean. Tim Allen really doesn't deserve it. Okay, yes he does. Still.

Seeing pictures of the skyline like that always look completely lacking of any sort of depth. A much larger building a mile behind a smaller foreground building seems at once looming and distant and at the same time cut out of the same vertical plane of the other buildings.

And it's rare to still see the self-contained water towers on top of buildings anymore. I like it.

I think I'm actually going to zoom in on those particular buildings tomorrow morning, if I think of it, because I like the rooftop water towers a lot, too.

What does your schedule look like this semester?

Interesting (or maybe not, I don't give a shit) footnote: My hometown was, at one time, the home of the only water tower-producing steel factory in America.

Classes Mon-Thu (Fuck yes I win). I only have four this semester, with one doozy (Flight Mechanics) and three that are easily managed.

Are you all settled in?

I haven't moved yet, no, I'm waiting on my roommate to do something or another. What're you doing this weekend?
