This weekend went slow...like incredibly slow...like slow motion slow...and you are wrong if you think that's a bad thing.  I live for a long weekend.  I appreciate a long, slow day.  I accomplished much and spent a good deal of money I don't have getting some new tires (with a quickie road trip coming up), but I didn't actually interact with ( Read more... )

"Did I mention that it's been raining and gray and dreary and muggy since Friday? Everything you touch is sticky and the air is damp even when it's not hot. I think this too adds to my funk...even though I pretend it doesn't. The best I felt this weekend was yesterday...I went down to my basement where I have a small joggers trampoline set up. I love the idea of running but can't becasue of severe knee pain...but on this trampoline, it's not a problem at all. I jogged with the MP3 player BLASTING in my ears for about 45 minutes and it was great. I was just lost in that music and thought about nothing but the tunes that blared. Lost.

Sometimes being lost isn't such a bad thing. Sometimes being lost is where I feel most comfortable."

muggy here in nj as well--seems like i can't remember the last day i loved the weather outside. totally loved the end of your post especially, about the trampoline and the mp3 player...totally can relate to savoring getting "lost" in something...

hey parker -

the only thing I can say is that being in a funk can be fine...but keep a watch on it. sometimes it can get far too comfortable in isolation to the point that it prevents you from the things that might draw you out of that funk, and prevents you from enjoying life - but I'm sure you know this.

and hey, if you really were bipolar - remember that you'd have the other pole....full blown mania, not hypomania (as I know that you know the difference). Not sleeping for days, energized, almost uncomfortable can't-stand-it-in-my-skin energy, etc...

your work situation was such a near-miss it was unbelievable. thank god that worked itself out.

Best of luck in your new job...and getting your routine going.
