Last night BK called. I saw it was her on the caller ID on my cell phone and decided to let the voicemail field the call. She sounded the same on the message. I want to say sad, but maybe that's just how I want her to sound. But she doesn't sound like she used to sound. It’s sunny and absolutely lovely looking outside the temperature is now 37 with today’s high reaching a scorching 38. That’s all fine by me. I embrace the cold and have been wondering, why in December - I feel 50 degrees is too warm for my liking. In May I attended what my job called Staff Development Day. Despite the fact that it sounds stupid and boring, it was a fantastic day of art therapy and bonding with co-workers. Though I have issue with people and stores who won’t donate items to my program, I must say that my heart was warmed by the incredible donations we received for Thanksgiving food baskets. I am proud to say that both Tutor Time Smithtown and Ronkonkoma collected and donations were plentiful. Additionally, some school in the area runs a food drive ( Read more... )
