First. I am over Heroes. We sat down to watch it last night, and I was like, ‘whatever.’ I ended up reading a magazine. Not sure what happened, I just don’t care anymore.
Emlyn's dad gets a veggie box like that every week, and it was so much fun! I loved it. Not as nice as having my dad's garden, but still. Wish I could find something like that here!
I probably could. My old supermarket, near where I used to live, was called Coop (although everyone here says "coop" and looks at me oddly when I read Co-op), and I hear they have lots of local fruits and veggies. They do delivery, so I'll look into finding one.
Definitely sounds fun. And it would be a way to eat better, which is a struggle. I try to make healthy meals, but Emlyn always says it's never enough food (even though there's two of us eating a four-person recipe) so insists on buying "extras" like fried chicken and gyoza and other unhealthy crap. (Granted, he gets salad and edamame too, but I hate when he gets all this fried stuff. I've mentioned it and he says he'll cut back and try to make healthier choices, but it wears off after a week or two.) It's a bit frustrating sometimes.
you can't take ownership of what he puts into his body. i mean, you can do the best you can and you can be a good eating role model, but you can't make him eat healthy.
i tried to keep soda out of the house (a surefire way to lose weight for both of us), i began finding soda cans in the truck of the car and soda cups from mcdonalds in the trash.
i wonder: have you tried making enough food for six--but most of it veggies? then he can barely complain that there isn't enough food, and you'll have plenty of leftovers for lunch tomorrow. :-)
