Yes, I've been there many times. Thanks to my need to uphold certain standards of professional practice, I have had the luxury of seeking better opportunities, more free time and a whoooole lot less money. I've been in the I/O Psych and HR field for a while and I can tell you that you have to be very careful what you say and to whom. Also realize that there are certain employers to which you do not want to suggest common sense--especially government. On the bright side, if you find yourself in a good company and can work your way into a position where you can have some power, it makes it all worthwhile. Once you get there, I know you will do well for yourself.

That's suggestive selling. It's not as bad as calling up someone who has no idea who you are and begging them to buy something, but it's still annoying, and now it's part of the score they grade our calls on. Bleh. Luckily I'm good at it, even if I do hate it.
